Calibration Technician
Penn Life Sciences is seeking a Calibration Technician to join our team in Langhorne, PA.
The Calibration Technician will perform testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems that support sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. This role ensures that all instruments, gauges, and sensors function accurately and consistently within required tolerances, maintaining compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in instrumentation and metrology, meticulous documentation habits, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, highly regulated environment.
This position’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Perform routine and non-routine calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation across utilities, facilities, and process systems in accordance with SOPs and cGMP requirements.
- Investigate “Out of Tolerance” (OOT) conditions, document findings, and implement corrective actions to maintain calibration integrity.
- Develop and update calibration procedures, job plans, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory expectations.
- Support qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and installation of instrumentation and automated control systems for new or modified equipment.
- Maintain calibration records, standards, and equipment within computerized systems (CMMS/CCMS) and ensure data integrity across all documentation.
We are looking for applicants with:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or formal technical training in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation disciplines preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience performing calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and controls in a cGMP pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or similarly regulated industry.
- Working knowledge of metrology principles, process instrumentation, and automated control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, weekends, or holidays as part of a 24/7 operation when required.
